Editor of Comics

Thinks trading cards are a legitimate form of currency

When writing and drawing your amazing comic book, you want to be able to focus on what you do best — creating! So you should hire Dane as your editor and leave him to deal with all the project management… stuff. Don’t worry; he thinks it’s fun. All methods of bartering are accepted. Except for gummy worms. They’re his kryptonite. But so yummy.

To learn firsthand the entire production process, Dane wrote, edited, and published his own comic anthology, Distant Shores. Someone shared some really lovely words about the book, and you can read the first and second issues. Go ahead. This page will be here when you finish, most likely.

Previously, Dane was an editorial intern at The Washington Post. Later, he edited a literary and art journal for the Pacifica Graduate Institute, where he earned his master’s in Mythological Studies. He could nerd for hours, days for sure, about the power of myth in today’s narratives and media. Consider this your warning.

Currently, he’s editing and writing a secret project for the rock opera band Les Friction and volunteering as a docent at the Comic-Con Museum in (usually) sunny San Diego. Be sure to visit! If conditions are fair, you just may see Dane in his natural habitat: surrounded by a gaggle of guests, yammering about Stan Lee’s obsession with Ant-Man.

Dane is ready to guide your comic from concept to vibrant pages flipping through your hands. He’ll steer you through creative development, offer script and art feedback, proofread and review lettering, and prepare files for publication, whether print or digital!

Send him an email. Make comics.
